Hacks & habits for good teaching: Small changes, big effects

Good, better, great teaching doesn’t always require an extraordinary investment of time and effort.
This workshop aims to provide lecturers – both those who are new to teaching and those who are old hands – with fresh perspectives, strategies and methods for good teaching that are easily implemented into everyday teaching and adapted to their own teaching style because they focus on communication, mindset and rhetoric more than on specific techniques or technologies.
I will bring helpful rhetorical scripts, resource-oriented principles and solution focused questions, small and not-so-small insights from my own expertise in teaching and mentoring students that improve lecturers’ agency in the classroom, build good rapport with students and help them with their own learning in constructive, collaborative and mindful ways.
During the workshop there will be ample time for exchange and questions where participants are welcome to share their own most successful teaching methods or receive individual help with particularly difficult situations in the seminar or in office hours.
