


The Accessibility Services (ZAB) are here to support you in getting off to an accessible start to your studies and beyond. On this page, we would like to provide you with an overview of the various services available to (new) students with disability, chronic or mental illness.
The ZAB student counselling service offers voluntary, confidential and independent advice to students and prospective students on all matters relating to accessible higher education. The ZAB student portal also contains a range of information on topics such as disadvantage compensation and student finance.
The ZAB provides an overview and information on support for participation in studies. This includes, for example, networking groups, student workspaces designed for low-stimulus working or equipped with assistive technologies, as well as quiet rooms and study assistance.
UniMaps is an app designed to facilitate accessible-friendly navigation on the campus of Bielefeld University, developed by and in collaboration with students within the Disabled Persons’ Representative Council / Accessibility Services (ZAB).
The "Welcome Back to Campus" event, organised by Student Health Management, brings students together at the start of the semester and showcases everything Bielefeld University has to offer. The ZAB is also taking part in the event with an information stand, providing details on studying with disability, chronic or mental illness.
The Student Health Management provides an overview of various health services. The services offered by Bielefeld University are clearly organised into categories such as physical and mental health, and social interaction.
During the Information Weeks, prospective students have the opportunity to find out all about studying at Bielefeld University. Subjects are presented and information is provided on topics such as funding your studies, finding accommodation, and applying and enrolling. The ZAB is taking part in the Information Weeks with a talk on studying with disability, chronic or mental illness.
