Centre for Teaching and Learning

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) with its various departments and teams offers information, advice and further training for prospective students, regular students and teachers.

At the Student Advising and Counselling (ZSB), the team of the Bielefeld's 'University for prospective students' organises information events for pupils on the range of courses on offer. The advisors are available to prospective students and regular students for individual discussions/advice on all questions relating to studying.

The employees of the Career Service offer students individual counselling and workshops on career orientation and transition to work.

The University Didactics and Teaching Development Team organises the personnel development programme for teaching (including the Bielefeld Certificate for University Teaching and the qualification of tutors). The employees advise teachers individually on all questions relating to teaching (e.g. on topics such as curriculum planning and evaluation, write-intensive and research-related teaching, collaborative learning) and support them in the use of eLearning/Media.

The ZLL also develops and coordinates inter-faculty programs to improve teaching at Bielefeld University and promotes university-wide communication about teaching. It benefits from many years of cooperation at national and international level with partner institutions and in networks. The employees of the ZLL participate in the further development of studies and teaching by being present at conferences and through publications.
