Current gender equality activities

  • Discrimination survey at the faculty
(In the summer term 2017, a survey among students on drop-outs as a result of experiences of discrimination related to gender and migration was conducted for the first time. The results show that students who experienced discrimination (a total of 43% of participants) consider dropping out due to these experiences more often than their fellow students. In addition, the results point at the intersection of different forms of discrimination (multiple discrimination), which rather affect women.
Overall, the study results provide valuable and concrete hints where further action and optimization with regard to gender equality activities in the faculty is possible. Therefore, and in order to examine the effectiveness of subsequently implemented and to prevent drop-outs due to gender-related discrimination, the survey of students will be repeated regularly. The next survey will be conducted in the winter semester 2019/2020.
The publication of the results of the first discrimination survey conducted in 2017 can be found here.
  • Information folder for students and employees
The compatibility of family care tasks with studying or working at the university can be a challenge for the students or employees. The Faculty's Equal Opportunities Commission has compiled an information folder to provide orientation on legal foundations and supporting services. This contains all basic information on labour law as well as information on various counselling services and can be viewed at the Equal Opportunities Officer. If you are interested, have any questions or wish to make an appointment, please contact the Equal Opportunities Officer.
