My name is Sinem Görmez and I work on project A05 in TRR 318 Constructing Explainability. A05 focuses on designing human-robot-based explanatory dialogues in such a way that a robot can continuously assess its counterpart's understanding and intervene in a supportive manner (“scaffolding”) depending on the situation. The goal is to make collaboration more understandable, safer, and suitable for everyday use.
My academic background combines Mechatronics, Automation, and IT: I completed my bachelor's degree in Mechatronics/Automation at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts in cooperation with Schüco International KG. I completed my master's degree in Information Technology at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts. I then worked for three years at TH OWL as a research manager on the SAIL project.
In Project A05, I bring these perspectives together at the intersection of robotics, interaction, and explainable AI, with a focus on how robots can support humans in shared tasks and adapt explanations to context and need.
