ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is one of the most common behavioral disorders in childhood and adolescence. Parents and adolescents are often helpless in facing this problem. The cognitive-behavioral training program SAVE mainly aims to achieve an increase in competence in the three core domains of attention, behavioral organization and emotion regulation.
At the beginning of the treatment, a detailed diagnosis is made to determine the factors that have contributed to the development and maintenance of ADHD.
This is followed by group training in groups of 6 to 8 adolescents. Here, the adolescents are taught how to cope with their ADHD in 10 group sessions of 120 minutes each (including a 10-minute break). A focus of SAVE is on teaching skills such as organizing chaos, improving attention, and reducing distractibility that will enable the youth to manage their daily lives more smoothly, stress-free, and independently.
The program includes a preliminary meeting for detailed diagnostics. This is followed by the training and a debriefing appointment. The appointments take place by personal arrangement.
At the initial meeting and at the follow-up appointment, you will receive various questionnaires related to ADHD and associated behaviors of the adolescents and their parents. We ask you to fill them out carefully.
Participation in the training is free of charge. The costs for the diagnostics are usually covered by the health insurance companies. Therefore, please bring your health insurance card with you to the diagnostic appointment. In addition, it is essential that you complete the questionnaires at all examination times!
Adolescents aged 12-18 years who have been diagnosed with hyperkinetic disorder according to ICD-10 (ADHD) can participate in the group program.
