Declaration on open science
AE14 is committed to the principles of open science and actively integrates them into its research practices. We endeavour to improve transparency, reproducibility and scientific integrity by implementing approaches such as pre-registration of studies, open data practices where ethically and legally possible, and reproducible manuscript preparation using tools such as R Markdown.
In addition, we have a strong interest in "meta-science". Meta-science refers to the scientific study of scientific practices, methods and publication processes with the aim of identifying factors that influence the reliability, validity and efficiency of research. This includes, for example, the investigation of reproducibility, publication bias and methodological decision-making in empirical research.
The members of AE14 are committed to Open Science in different ways in various projects and career stages. These include the development and application of reproducible workflows, the sharing of research materials and data when appropriate, and the continuous improvement of transparent research practices. Through these endeavours, we aim to contribute to a more open, robust and collaborative scientific culture.
We are also actively involved in cross-institutional initiatives that promote Open Science beyond our own site, contributing to broader efforts to promote transparency and reproducibility in psychological and neuroscience research.
Interest Group Open and Reproducible Science (IGOR) in the Division of Biological Psychology and Neuroscience

IGOR was founded in 2019 by Tina Lonsdorf, Gordon Feld and colleagues as an active forum for exchange on open science practices. It provides a platform for discussion, networking and the promotion of transparent and reproducible research. Currently, Maria Bruntsch and Maren Klingelhöfer-Jens in particular are involved in IGOR and contribute to its ongoing activities.
DFG Priority Programme "A meta-scientific research programme for the analysis and optimisation of reproducibility in the behavioural, social and cognitive sciences (META-REP )"
The DFG priority programme META-REP(https://www.lmu.de/psy/de/forschung/meta-rep/) focuses on meta-research and the systematic investigation of reproducibility in psychological science. The aim is to better understand the conditions for the robustness and reproducibility of research results and to develop methodological improvements to increase the transparency and reliability of research. Prof. Lonsdorf is a member of the programme committee and contributes to the strategic development and coordination of the initiative.
