General Information: Ghent University is located in Flanders, where the official language is Dutch. Founded in 1817, it is one of the largest universities in the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium. The university brings together 43,000 students under its roof and is divided into a total of eleven faculties. With a population of over 260,000, Ghent is the second largest city in Belgium after Antwerp.
Study programs and spezialisations: From the 3rd bachelor year onwards, a specialization can be chosen. There are three main subjects in the Bachelor's program in Psychology: Clinical Psychology, Business Psychology and Human Resources, and Theoretical and Experimental Psychology. An educational master's program is also offered with a concentration in behavioral sciences.
Study schedule: The winter semester usually begins at the end of September and ends at the end of December. Examinations are held in January. The summer semester usually begins in early March and ends in late May. Following this, exams are held in June. At the end of August/beginning of September there is a second examination period or second deadlines.
Other Information: "Welcome Days" for international students take place every semester at the end of September and beginning of February, which include both information events and welcome activities.
