University of Malaga (Spain)

General Information: Malaga is located on the Mediterranean Sea directly on the Costa del Sol (Spanish for "Sun Coast") and is surrounded by the Sierra de Mijas and Montes de Málaga mountains. The city, which has a population of around 570,000, is a popular vacation destination and offers a warm Mediterranean climate and beaches as well as numerous cultural activities. The University of Malaga, founded in 1972, has more than 35,000 students and offers about 60 bachelor's and over 50 master's degree programs. The university is divided into 17 faculties; the Department of Psychology belongs to the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy.

Study programs and specializations: A four-year bachelor's program in psychology is offered. In addition, there are several psychology master's programs, including "Social Research and Intervention" (2 semesters), "Educational Psychology and Psycho-educational Intervention in a Developmental Context" (2 semesters), and "General Health Psychology" (3 semesters).

Study schedule: The winter semester begins in mid-September (Spanish language courses already start in early September) and ends in mid-February. The summer semester lasts from mid-February (Spanish language courses start in early February) to mid-July.

Other Information: A Spanish language course is offered for Erasmus students. In addition, you can participate in the Buddy Program, where you will be assigned a buddy studying at Malaga University on a 1:1 basis. A welcome guide summarizes important information for international students.
