The faculty is organised into various institutes and centres in order to be able to track its research tasks. They also reflect the main areas of research.

Institutes and centres

The Faculty of Law bundles its interdisciplinary research in specialised institutes and centres. These facilities cover central areas of law such as technology law, health compliance, labour and social law, environmental and commercial law, thus strengthening research, transfer and networking both nationally and internationally. They offer expertise for science, practice and politics.

  • Institute for Labour and Social Protection (IAsS)

    The research focus is on legal protection in labour and social relations. The IAsS examines labour law standards, social security systems and protection mechanisms for employees.

  • Institute of Environmental Law

    In environmental law, the legal foundations of environmental protection and nature conservation are researched. Topics include sustainability, regulatory instruments and legal responsibilities.

  • Institute for Socio-Legal Studies and Legal Policy

    This institute analyses actual legal data and legal policy developments. It combines empirical research with legal theory and social issues.
