Pricipal Investigator

Prof. Dr. Kai Essig

Design and Evaluation of a Modular Adaptive Cognitive Mobile Assistive System for Flexible Use in Professional and Private Environments (DEMAPP)

Project duration: 2017/04 - 2019/03
Project funding: 30.025 Euro (+ 6.600 Euro)

The overall aim of this project was to successively get to know and to establish a long-term cooperation with the REVIVE (Reverse-Engineering Visual Intelligence for cognitiVe Enhancement) team at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR Institute Singapore.
In the progress of the project we organized one international workshop with invited keynote speakers at the A*STAR Institute in Singapore ("CITEC-I2R Mixed Reality for Human Enhancement" Workshop from 28. August 2017 - 29. August 2017). The workshop took place at the Fusionopolis Building, One-North in Singapore. A second international Workshop (HSRW-I2R Workshop on "Multimodal Assistive Systems - Improving Human Quality of Life and Performance using Modern Technologies" (MASIL) was held from 27. - 28. March 2019 at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kamp-Lintfort, Germany. Additionally, guests visits of two Post-Doc researchers from the Center of Excellence - Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) and one professor of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences at the A*STAR Institute in Singapore were founded for research exchange and to prepare a joint grant proposal on a more generally applicable mobile, cognitive and modular-assistive system.
