Dr. Christoph Düsing
Christoph Düsing received both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Business Information Systems, focusing on Data Science. In 2021, he joined the Semantic Computing Group of Bielefeld University, where he received his PhD in 2025. The topic of his dissertation was “Federated Learning Platforms for Dynamic and Value-Driven Participation in Privacy-Preserving Machine Learning”. As part of his thesis, he developed a framework and individual components facilitating dynamic participation in real-world federated learning systems through the adoption of platform governance mechanisms.
Since October 2025, he continues his work at Bielefeld University as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Specifically, his research focus is on (Explainable) Federated Learning for tabular and time-series data within the medical domain.
