Drop in advisory service

You can contact the ZSB for general information via email at zsb@uni-bielefeld.de and by phone*, daily from 9.00 to 11.00 by using +49 (0) 521 106-3019. When choosing this you can expect to receive information

  • on the various study courses offered at Bielefeld University
  • on application and study options
  • or get redirected to relevant, more specialized people or departements if required (amongst others)

Contact hours for our drop-in advisory service are divided into face-to-face and telephone counselling as follows:

Face-to-face:

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.00 - 11.30 as well as Wednesdays from 17.00 - 18.30 and Thursdays from 15.00 - 16.30 in B2-116 (main building).

By telephone*:

Tuesdays and thursdays from 15.00 - 16.30 on the phone numbers: +49 (0) 521 106-3017 and -67820

Our drop-in advisory service is especially useful for extended conversations, advice or counselling on topics like

  • uncertainty on studying in general or which course to choose
  • how to prepare/organize your studies
  • change of course/subject or cancel your studies
  • when seeking psychological counselling due to personal, social or other challenges that effect your studies and/or everyday life

These are just some examples of possible enquiries you could contact us with. If you're uncertain as of which number to use, just call whichever number is available (next)! You're never wrong contacting the ZSB.

*Until further notice, we are currently not accepting calls that are suppressed or displayed as "unknown number". If you do not want your number to be displayed, please contact us by email (first).

A quick note when calling us: While we are currently mainly working from Home Office it appears that you hear a dial tone even while we're occupied by another phone call (instead of hearing a busy tone). In this case, please try one of the other numbers or try again a little later.
