Note:
The workshop will be held in English. During the subsequent discussion, questions in German are welcome.
This workshop is aimed at advanced doctoral candidates and postdocs who plan to apply for external research funding or would like to gain an initial overview of the funding landscape. Participants will receive essential information on major national funding bodies, including the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry for Education, Research and Technology (BMFTR), as well as selected research‑funding foundations. The workshop will also address the role of third‑party funding in academic career development.
After the presentation and Q&A, participants will have the opportunity to book a 10‑minute Flash Consultation Session. These short sessions are conducted by Minea Gartzlaff and Lena Gumpert. They are intended for questions that participants may prefer not to raise in the larger group setting, or for receiving an initial personalised consultation on individual funding‑related concerns. The consultations can be held in German or English. A maximum of 12 slots is available. Further in‑depth counselling with the research funding advisors can, of course, be arranged afterwards if needed.
Participants who would like to reserve a 10‑minute slot for one of these Flash Consultation Sessions are kindly asked to indicate this in their workshop registration email.
