This workshop for PhD researchers offers the opportunity to reflect on their own conditions, goals and plans: Under what – financial, institutional, personal – conditions do I want to do my doctorate? Under what conditions would I want to give up my doctoral project? What goals am I pursuing with my PhD? Are there any side effects of doing a doctorate that I cannot tolerate? What steps would I like to take next towards my PhD?
In the first half of the four-hour workshop, the participants first clarify the conditions that are important to them; and then the goals – possibly also: the unintended consequences – that they associate with doing a doctorate. In the second half, the participants recapitulate their work on their doctoral project over the past four weeks and draw up options for action and plans for the next four weeks.
The training is bilingual: participants can speak in German or English; listening in both languages is a prerequisite for participation.
