Digging up diamonds: a practical approach to writing better scientific papers

This hands-on workshop combines theoretical insights from communication science and writing research with a pragmatic approach to writing scientific papers. We combine the powers of deadlines, focus, and questions to get some scientific writing done. You get to know and directly apply a structured approach that gives your more control over your writing - from first idea to finished text.
At the end of the day, participants have
- experimented with different strategies to find your way (back) into the writing process;
- put a structured writing process model into action;
- drafted, organised, and revised a text in several rounds;
- got to know strategies to develop, and stick to, personal writing routines.
Trainer:
Dr. Vera Leberecht (Maastricht/NL) studied Linguistics, Intercultural Communication and Theology in Germany and Finland. She worked at Maastricht University Language Centre for several years before starting her own training and consulting business in 2008. She is enthusiastic about empowering professionals to communicate with reason and resonance, in academia and beyond.
