Speaker: Prof Dr Jutta Rump, Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society

The coronavirus crisis and the geopolitical situation combined with the key megatrends have given rise to a new normality in the world of work. This also applies to universities:
Digital transformation - economic transformation - ecological transformation
Demographic development
Limited financial resources - time as a scarce commodity - shortage of young talent and skilled workers
Agile working - mobile working - flexible forms of work
Forms of collaboration (stationary - hybrid - virtual)
Nothing new, especially in the university sector, but increasingly relevant today and in the future. This excerpt from the new normality has consequences for leadership in science. Expertise with simultaneous participation, dealing with diversity, management in a world of speed, complexity and scarcity (money, time, personnel) characterise the requirements profile of academic managers. Is the "university" system prepared for this? What needs to be done to shape the paradigm shift? How can managers in the "university" system be empowered and prepared?
This specialist lecture is part of a series of cross-university lectures. It will focus on both practical organisation options and scientific findings on the paths to professorship. The series of events is aimed at junior professors and researchers on the path to a professorship as well as anyone who shapes and supports academic career paths.
