Strategy and Aims

Excellence at the university requires the support of modern administration and innovative technical services, which together lay the foundation for research, studying, and teaching. University support services staff have a mandate to provide their services with the highest degree of professionalism possible, and in alignment with the needs of researchers. We also support the Rectorate and the Dean’s Offices in the strategic development of the university.

To achieve these goals, we are honing our data systems to provide the data needed for data-driven management and contribute to the university’s profile building with appropriate resource planning.

With our large-scale construction projects, we are also building the spaces needed for competitive research and appealing university study. In addition to the necessary renovations in the Main University Building, another important focus is the construction of the OWL Faculty of Medicine.

We seek to continuously improve our services by optimising and digitalising our work processes.

Close and effective cooperation between staff members is vital to the success of the university support services units. To achieve this, we have jointly defined values, while fostering independence and responsibility for results as well as defining the orientation towards stated goals. Through these efforts, we are creating a place where staff members in technical services and administration enjoy working at Bielefeld University and identify with the institution’s mission to facilitate world-class research and provide outstanding academic instruction.
