What is the state initiative CRIS.NRW?

The task of the CRIS.NRW state initiative is to support universities and universities of applied sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia in implementing the Research Core Dataset (“Kerndatensatz Forschung”);KDFS) and introducing Research Information Systems (FIS).

Funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia, the main objective of the state initiative is to establish and provide communication and support structures for the implementation of the KDFS and the associated introduction of FIS at universities and universities of applied sciences in NRW.

CRIS.NRW is based at the University of Münster (WWU) and draws on the experience gained there. Through many years of operating a university-wide FIS and involvement in the development of the KDFS specification, the WWU has gained extensive expertise in this area, which other higher education institutions can also benefit from through the state initiative.
