Bielefeld University offers its researchers a variety of data-related services around the topic of third-party funding:
These include support in the preparation of data-related aspects of third-party funding applications (e.g. research data management plans), the organisation of interdisciplinary third-party funding projects, the conception of third-party funding applications and the implementation of acquired third-party funding projects.
BiCDaS third-party funding services include, but are not limited to:

Research funders increasingly expect precise planning of data management as early as the third-party funding application stage. This includes the handling of the data during the project as well as the publication, subsequent use and archiving of the data. Therefore, the excellent support from Bielefeld University and the existing services should be emphasized in a funding application. The Competence Center for Research Data helps researchers at Bielefeld University to accurately present research data management in their grant applications.
The Statistik-Beratungs-Centrum (StatBeCe) offers interdisciplinary cooperation for researchers of all disciplines already during the planning of a research project. Furthermore, StatBeCe is happy to help with the implementation of data collection as well as with the search for the appropriate statistical procedures and methods.
The interdisciplinary cooperation includes a participation in the publication (co-authorship) and - in case of third-party funded projects - a positional participation in the project.
For ideas for a new research project or questions about statistical procedures and methods in an ongoing project, please contact the StatBeCe: statbece@uni-bielefeld.de or make an appointment with Dr Odile Sauzet
When applying for third-party funding, concepts for publications and science communication are increasingly required. Bielefeld University Press (BiUP) supports and advises researchers on innovative publication formats, especially in the areas of open access, science communication, and the presentation of quantitative and non-quantitative data in digital publications.
Structured research data management enables researchers to plan, collect, process, document, and preserve medical research data in an early and consistent manner. The consulting service of the Service Center for Medical Data Science therefore already begins in the planning phase of a research project or when a funding application is submitted, e.g. with the selection of suitable data and tools. During the research project, the Service Center for Medical Data Science team supports researchers from medicine and related disciplines in the time-saving and efficient use of data resources. At the end of the project, the Service Center for Medical Data Science team helps to archive research data and results sustainably and securely and, if necessary, to make them accessible for further research in accordance with the FAIR principles.
The AG 12 Biostatistics and Medical Biometry supports researchers from medicine and related disciplines with statistical expertise in third-party funded projects already in the planning phase.
It is possible to carry out a research project together with the AG 12 Biostatistics and Medical Biometry within a cooperation (depending on requirements, including study planning, application, supervision during the course of the study, analysis of the data and support in the publication of the data).
