University Sports Service Bielefeld

The University Sports Service offers students and employees of the University a diverse, demand-driven and high-quality range of recreational sport and fitness activities all year round. Students and employees with disabilities as well as those with chronic illnesses are also very welcome at the University Sports Service.

While many of the activities on offer are not suitable for wheelchair users, there are opportunities to take part in wheelchair table tennis or wheelchair basketball.

UniFit

The UniFit gym is equipped for people with disabilities and since 1 October 2006 has offered a 30 % discount for people with a minimum disability of 50 (who are therefore classed under German law as being ‘severely disabled)’. Prospective participants are advised to take advantage of an individual consultation before booking a place. An individual training plan will be discussed in advance - if necessary in consultation with the respective doctor/physiotherapist.
