Major subject or subject Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht")
Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht") can be studied as part of the degree programme for primary school teachers or for primary school teachers with integrated special needs education. In addition, the compulsory subjects elementary mathematics and German literacy as well as educational sciences must be selected. Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht") is automatically your subject if you are studying to become a primary school teacher with integrated special education; if you are studying to become a primary school teacher, you decide upon enrolment whether you would like to study Sachunterricht as a subject or as a major subject. Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht"): Interdisciplinary
Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht") / Natural Sciences is interdisciplinary in nature and includes subject-specific and subject-specific didactic elements of the natural sciences (with the related subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and social sciences (with the related subjects of History, Social Sciences), which are brought together in individual courses using selected topics as examples.
In the first three semesters, the degree programme consists of three compulsory modules for students of both the subject and the major subject: "Introduction to Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht")", "Natural Sciences Perspective of Sachunterricht" and "Social Sciences Perspective of Sachunterricht".
Individual specialisation
From the fourth subject-related semester onwards, students can choose their individual specialisation. Depending on your interests, you can choose which of the reference subjects biology, chemistry, history, social sciences or physics you would like to specialise in. One major subject must be chosen for the specialisation and two for the major subject.
Subsequent degree programme: Master of Education
In the Master of Education, the concepts of Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht") learnt in the Bachelor's degree are applied in practice as part of the preparation, implementation and reflection of the Teaching Experience Semester. In addition, a further focus is placed on the networking of perspectives.
