
The Interdisciplinary Center for Health Literacy Research (IZGK) is a cross-faculty research institution at Bielefeld University. Its mission is to consolidate and continuously advance health literacy research at the university. The center’s research activities encompass population-based studies on health literacy as well as investigations into organizational and professional health literacy. In addition, the IZGK is actively engaged in knowledge transfer between academia, policy, and practice in order to support the sustainable promotion of health literacy. The IZGK is integrated into an extensive national and international network of collaborations and is one of the founding members of the European WHO Action Network on Measuring Population and Organizational Health Literacy (M-POHL).
