In order to comprehensively realise gender equality at the Medical School OWL, gender equality-related tasks and measures to promote gender equality are dealt with in the respective specialist departments and sustainably effective offers and structures are created in cooperation with the Gender Equality Department. The contact persons for the Equal Opportunities Officer and the Equal Opportunities and Gender Advisor are the decentralised Equal Opportunities Officer.

The Data Protection Unit advises on all matters relating to data protection and information security, in particular in the context of future research projects and the procurement of new software. In addition, the staff unit offers training and individual counselling on data protection issues and prepares data protection documents.

The Department of Studies and Teaching is responsible for the (further) development, organisation and quality assurance of the medical degree programme. The department's tasks also include advising prospective students and students during their studies as well as advising and supporting teaching staff, instructors, lectures to improve their teaching skills.
The department informs, advises, supports and manages the areas of research funding and career development. It is also responsible for third-party funding management and supports the development of research infrastructures for the Faculty.

The department bundles resource planning in the areas of finance, personnel and space. It also offers services in the areas of financial management and the procurement of goods and services, personnel management including appointment and recruitment procedures as well as the coordination of the Faculty of Medicine's new buildings and the administration of faculty space.

The Central Biobank of Bielefeld University (ZBUB) is the contact point for all questions relating to the collection and storage of biosamples as well as sample preparation for further analyses, e.g. in the OMICs Core Facility. We also support Researchers in planning and conducting studies with biosamples.
The faculty conference (Fako for short) is responsible for the passing of a resolution on all matters for which the dean's office is not responsible. In this respect, it is responsible for all academic matters, e.g. appointments to professorships, and for the passing of a resolution on the Faculty Regulations and other regulations.
The Commission for Research and Career Development (FoKo for short) of the Medical School OWL advises and decides - under the chairmanship of the Vice Dean for Research and Career Development - on current concerns in the area of research and career development and makes recommendations to the faculty conference on the relevant issues.
The Equal Opportunities Commission (GleiKo for short) of the Medical School OWL is responsible for all matters relating to gender equality in the Faculty in accordance with the NRW State Equal Opportunities Act. The Equal Opportunities Commission advises and supports the faculty management in implementing these issues and makes recommendations to the faculty conference on the relevant matters.
The University Library Commission (BibKo for short) of the Medical School OWL discusses and decides - under the chairmanship of the Vice Dean for Research and Career Development and the Dean of Studies - on current concerns in the area of the structure and further development of the departmental library's media collection and makes recommendations to the faculty conference on the relevant issues.
