DFG funding awards for individual projects

A programme to reward the successful acquisition of individual DFG projects worth over €100,000

What is the aim of the programme?

Through this programme, the medical school OWL supports the successful acquisition of DFG grants for research equipment and clinical trials. It is intended to help increase the acquisition of DFG funding and, in particular, to provide an incentive for early-career researchers to receive funding for their own research projects.

Who can apply for the award?

The award is open to members or affiliates of the medical school OWL who have successfully received funding for a research grant or clinical trial from the DFG.

How much is the award?

The award is €3,000 for professors. Researchers below professorial level receive an award of €5,000.
In the case of applications with multiple applicants, the award may be divided equally amongst them or allocated to a single person.

What is the award period?

The award period runs from January 2025 to December 2027.

What can the award be used for?

The award may be used by researchers to fund material resources (including conferences, travel costs, publications, research activities, staff and consumables). The funds should be spent within a maximum of three years.

How is the award payment arranged?

The award is paid out once the notification of approval by the DFG has been received and is automatically arranged by the Research and Career Development Unit and Finance Department of the medical school OWL.

Please feel free to contact the Research and Career Development Unit if you have any questions.
