Online application
Prospective doctoral candidates apply for acceptance as a doctoral candidate by applying via the application portal and uploading their application documents.
We would like to provide you with the following information on the application portal for better orientation:
- Please select the tile labelled "Application for admission-restricted combined bachelor's degrees / all master's degrees / doctorate/Phd studies in medicine".
- You will then register and receive a welcome email with your user ID.
- Please follow the further instructions in the portal.
- In the selection box "desired degree programme", select the degree "free doctorate/Phd studies".
- Prospective doctoral students who are still studying medicine should select the subject "Studienbegl. Medicine HF". If the state exam(ination) has been completed, select the subject "Promo Frei Medizin HF".
The application is possible at any time, i.e. there are no deadlines. When submitting your application, you decide in which semester you wish to begin your doctorate. The semesters for which the application can be submitted overlap for a certain period of time. Once you have been accepted as a doctoral candidate, you must enrol in the current semester or in the following semester at the latest (see Starting your doctorate/Phd studies).
