Academic aptitude test for psychology (BaPsy)

Starting in the 2025/26 winter semester, the results of the BaPsy-DGPs academic aptitude test for psychology will also be taken into account during the admissions process. You can register for the test at https://www.studieneignungstest-psychologie.de/ . The allocation of study places is governed by the admissions regulations, which can be found on the program information page. Taking the test is voluntary and is not a prerequisite for admission. However, all prospective students are encouraged to take the test to improve their chances of securing a spot. A good test score can improve your chances of admission even if your high school graduation exam scores are not as strong. And even with very strong high school graduation exam scores, a good test score can be crucial for admission.

Free study materials are available on the Academic Aptitude Test website. If you have any further questions regarding test preparation, please feel free to contact the academic advising office.

Please note that the B.Sc. program in Psychology (Psychotherapy Track) is recognized under professional regulations in accordance with the Psychotherapist Act and the Licensing Regulations for Psychotherapists. This qualification enables you to pursue a master’s program in psychotherapy, which may culminate in the licensing examination. We offer such a master’s program here at Bielefeld University: M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy.
