A qualification offer for students of Bielefeld University

The qualification programme "Europe Intensive" offers the opportunity for an interdisciplinary examination of the European Union and the process of European integration as well as orientation with regard to a professional activity. During the two-semester programme, participants learn two-semester programme parallel to their regular studies, participants learn about Europe from the perspective of

  • Law (e.g. European law, comparative law, constitutional systems),
  • Economics (e.g. foreign economic policy, EU internal market),
  • Humanities (e.g. history of European integration) and
  • Sociology (e.g. organs and institutions of the EU)
  • Health sciences

in various forms of teaching by representatives of the respective disciplines.

On the other hand, the professional use of foreign languages (English / French) and other technologies of intercultural communication are trained, such as negotiation skills and negotiation analysis.

A self-chosen internship of several weeks internshipFinally, a self-chosen internship of several weeks, most of which is completed in Brussels , enables the participants to directly experience the discussion, influence and implementation of decisions of the institutions. It serves to deepen and broaden the knowledge about Europe and the European Union acquired up to that point.
