Information on qualification and scholarship programmes

The ASA Programme

The ASA Programme (Work and Study Stays) is a development policy learning and qualification programme for young people who want to work for a fairer world and understand global interrelationships. It promotes international learning communities and engagement in the spirit of the United Nations' Agenda 2030.

DAAD : Language and Practice in China or Japan

The aim of the programme is to offer German graduates (with at least a completed Bachelor's degree in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, law, political science, economics or architecture) the opportunity to participate in a language and practice-oriented programme in China or Japan.

The DAAD would particularly like to encourage interested applicants with little or no experience of China/Japan to submit an application. This scholarship is generally valid for a period of about 16 months (preparatory course in Germany, language course and internship in China/Japan).

Further information for language and practice in China can be found here (german), for language and practice in Japan here.

China Scholarship Programme

The China Fellowship Programme is aimed at students of non-sinological subjects with a substantial interest in the People's Republic of China and offers them the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of the Chinese language and society as well as the university and academic landscape during a one-year stay in China.
