Family and research often require a certain degree of flexibility. The Family Service is open to all members of the university for these and other challenges. It provides information on open childcare places, breastfeeding rooms, caring for relatives and much more.

Raising children and caring for relatives often slows down one's own research. Academics who are bringing up children or caring for relatives are therefore entitled to apply for financial support from the Bielefeld Young Researchers Fund .
