at the earliest possible date. This is associated with the position as Senior Physician of the Geriatric Psychiatry devision.

Against the background of the current demographic situation and the developments to be expected in the next decades, geriatrics plays a central role in the prevention, rehabilitation and care of older people with acute and chronic diseases as well as multiple impairments, also within the framework of the research profile of the Medical School OWL.
In close cooperation with the geriatric specialist clinics at the UMC OWL, a university medical center-wide concept for health care research in the field of health and medicine of ageing will be developed and implemented. The concept should take into account the specifics of geriatric medical care for patients in rural (district of Lippe) and urban (city of Bielefeld) structures and should address cross-sectoral care structures. In the future, this topic will be dealt with jointly, with the individual hospitals establishing their own focus of research that can be linked to each other.
In addition, close networking and cooperation with the medical community in private practice and with representatives of the various health care professions in the region are expected, as well as cooperation with representatives of other faculties, including the School of Public Health.
The call aims at personalities in an early career stage with an already promising profile (W2 TT W3) or personalities with an already established national and international profile (W3) who can represent the field of expertise in research, teaching, and patient care in its entirety.

As the holder of this position, you will head the Geriatric Psychiatry devision at the Campus Bielefeld-Bethel (CBB) of the UMC OWL, which is to be expanded and developed. This devision is a growing part of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the EvKB, currently provides 52 inpatients and 16 semi-inpatients treatment places and also includes the geriatric psychiatry area of the outpatient institute. In addition, a large interdisciplinary delirium prevention project is being managed cooperatively from the devision.
We expect the expansion of the very close cooperation with the Departments of Neuromedicine, for People with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and, in particular, for Geriatrics at EvKB, with the Mara hospital as well as with Klinikum Bielefeld and Klinikum Lippe. You will be involved in the development and operation of a university MR-Imaging Core Facility.
Accordingly, we are looking for a personality with leadership experience and expertise in the entire field and excellent communication and coordination skills.
As the holder of this position, you should also be willing to address gender and diversity-related issues in order to improve health care practice.

A private-law employment contract with the University is envisaged for the performance of the duties of the professorship. The requirements for employment follow § 36 HG.
The tasks within patient care, including the right to liquidation, will be regulated via a contract with the EvKB.
The W2 tenure variant is initially limited to five years; after appointment, a target agreement is formulated. If the evaluation is positive in the final year, the appointment is converted into a permanent W3 professorship. Tenure evaluations are regulated in the statute for quality assurance of professorships with tenure track (TT). Tenure-track professorships are firmly established at Bielefeld University as an equal tenure option. Tenure-track professors are offered a target-group- specific personnel development program that provides support during the arrival phase and in preparation for the tenure evaluation.
