The Medical School OWL and the University Medical Center OWL (UMC OWL), with the Klinikum Bielefeld, Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel (EvKB) and Klinikum Lippe as holders, are a young, innovative location under construction. We are looking for individuals who understand this development situation as an opportunity to create and to actively shape research, teaching, health care and organization together with us. You will be significantly involved in implementing our model study program in human medicine and can contribute innovative ideas for teaching. Our career support programs, as well as our research support programs that aim at interdisciplinary cooperation, offer you a wide range of development opportunities. At the same time, we give you a special opportunity to participate in the design of the research profile “Medicine for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses”.

The Department for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Campus Bielefeld-Bethel (CBB) is a large hospital in the region and the UMC OWL with 436 beds and day-care hospital places (incl. inpatient-equivalent treatment) designated in the hospital plan and an institute outpatient clinic. It serves the entire city of Bielefeld in the meaning of an Epidemiologic Catchment Area. The spectrum of the clinic covers psychiatry and psychotherapy in its whole breadth, organized into specialist focus areas. With your participation, the clinical and preclinical research will be further expanded and implemented within the framework of a structural and development concept for the department. Expected is a further expansion of clinical-translational and preclinical as well as the expansion of participation-oriented research. In addition to the structures of the clinic’s research department, the establishment of an interdisciplinary neuro-core facility is planned; a neuromodulation unit is currently being set up in cooperation with the Department for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at the TU Dortmund University (IFADO).
We expect networking with other departments of the UMC OWL as well as the medical community in private practice in the region. Accordingly, we are looking for a personality with leadership experience and expertise in the entire field and excellent communication and coordination skills.
