is to be filled at the earliest possible date.
The successful candidate will strengthen the teaching and research area Empirical Methods at the faculty. Applicants should have solid expertise in a subfield of Data Science, Statistics, or Econometrics and be able to demonstrate relevant experience in methodological development related to the behavioral sciences (Economics, Sociology, Psychology).
The successful candidate is expected to actively participate in current research initiatives within the Empirical Methods group as well as the interdisciplinary Center for Statistics (ZeSt), particularly regarding inference for sequential data and latent variables. A research focus related to methods such as structural equation modeling, factor analysis, multilevel analysis, or dimensionality reduction is therefore especially suitable. Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary and international collaboration and to acquire external research funding is expected and ideally supported by relevant previous initiatives. Experience in supervising students and doctoral researchers is an advantage.
The professorship includes participation in teaching at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, in particular within the Master’s programs Data Science and Statistical Sciences. Relevant teaching experience is therefore required.
Requirements for appointment include a completed university degree with a methodological and quantitative orientation (e.g., Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Statistics), pedagogical aptitude, and an outstanding ability for scholarly research, generally demonstrated by the exceptional quality of a doctoral dissertation.
The appointment is initially limited to three years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three years following a positive interim evaluation. Qualified internal applications are anticipated.
Applications from suitably qualified handicapped and severely handicapped persons are explicitly encouraged.
