The Medical School OWL at Bielefeld University intends to fill a

The Medical School OWL and the University Medical Center OWL (UMC OWL), with Klinikum Bielefeld, Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel (EvKB), and Klinikum Lippe, are a young and innovative medical location under development. As the holder of this position, you will make a significant contribution to the further development of academic medicine at the Department of Dermatology, Venereology, and Allergology. In close collaboration with the clinic director, you will establish the Skin Tumor Center at the Department of Dermatology, Venereology, and Allergology as part of the Oncology Center at Klinikum Bielefeld, where you will hold a joint management position. Klinikum Bielefeld is designated as an Oncology Center in the hospital plan of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and has also been certified as an Oncology Center by the German Cancer Society.
The UMC OWL Stem Cell Transplantation Center is currently being established at the campus of Klinikum Bielefeld.
In addition, you will establish a dermatological oncology research focus, preferably incorporating the existing clinical and scientific focus on inflammatory dermatoses. You will play an active role in the translational research laboratory, currently being established at the Department of Dermatology, Venereology, and Allergology. You will also expand the existing dermatological study center by conducting your own clinical-translational research projects in collaboration with the emerging Center for Translational Medicine at the Medical School OWL of Bielefeld University.
We expect close collaboration with other departments of the UMC OWL, other faculties of Bielefeld University, and the medical community (private practices) in the region. Therefore, we are seeking an individual with leadership experience and expertise in the entire field of Translational Dermato-Oncology, along with excellent communication and coordination skills.

The appointment requirements are governed by § 36 HG. The duties within the scope of clinical care are regulated by a contract with Klinikum Bielefeld.
The W2 TT W2 appointment is initially limited to five years; after appointment, a target agreement is formulated. In the event of a positive tenure evaluation in the final year /, the subsequent transfer to a permanent W3 professorship is planned. Tenure evaluations are regulated in the statutes on quality assurance of professorships with tenure track (TT). Tenure track professorships are firmly established at Bielefeld University as an equal employment option. Tenure track professors are offered a target group-specific personnel development program that provides support during the arrival phase and in preparation for the tenure evaluation.
