The Medical School OWL at Bielefeld University intends to fill a
at the Centre for Anaesthesiology, Surgical Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine and Pain Management at Klinikum Bielefeld as soon as possible. The position is associated with a senior physician position and limited to five years.
The Medical School OWL and the University Medical Center OWL (UMC OWL), with Klinikum Bielefeld, Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel (EvKB), and Klinikum Lippe, are an innovative medical location under development. We are seeking individuals who embrace this development process as an opportunity to actively create and shape research, teaching, patient care, and organization in collaboration with us. You will be significantly involved in implementing our model study program in human medicine and can contribute innovative ideas for teaching. The advertised position is based at the Centre for Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine at the Campus Klinikum Bielefeld of the UMC OWL. The Centre for Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine comprises three surgical wards at the locations Bielefeld-Mitte, Rosenhöhe and Halle, as well as a surgical intensive care wards, an IMC and two interdisciplinary intensive care wards.
The holder of this position will be responsible for setting up the Clinical Study Centre for Resuscitation and integrating into it the Centre for Translational Medicine and Therapy, which is currently being established at Bielefeld University. The Clinical Study Centre for Resuscitation will focus in particular on improving the quality of pre-hospital emergency care. The study centre will also provide a framework for the development of a clinical-translational focus on prediction and prognosis for survival after out-of-hospital cardiovascular arrests. The position holder will design experimental and clinical studies for more precise control of resuscitation measures and ensure their implementation in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements in close cooperation with clinical partners and international research networks.
We expect close collaboration with other departments of the UMC OWL, other faculties of Bielefeld University, and the medical community (private practices) in the region. Therefore, we are seeking an individual with leadership experience and expertise in the entire field, along with excellent communication and coordination skills.

The duties of the professorship will be carried out within the framework of a public-law employment relationship with the University (no civil service status). The appointment requirements are governed by § 36 HG. The duties within the scope of patient care are regulated by a contract with Klinikum Bielefeld.
