Art in the main university building: a series of large-format black and white photographs with motifs from everyday life at the university lends a special atmosphere to the University Hall. The unconventional images were created by renowned photographer Veit Mette, who once studied here himself.
Exhibitions can be seen in the spacious university building and in the neighbouring ZiF: The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research shows contemporary art by national and international artists both indoors and outdoors.
In the subject of Art & Music Education (in German) at the Faculty of Linguistics and Literary Studies (level T0), student artworks created as part of seminars or as final theses are regularly exhibited.
A little tip on the side: The Kunsthalle Bielefeld (in German) offers free admission for students and school pupils every Wednesday from 19:00-21:00.
With the UniZoom (in German) photo competition, the Centre for Aesthetics regularly invites ambitious photographers from all status groups at Bielefeld University and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences to capture their perspective on a specific topic with their camera.
