PRISMA
What is PRISMA?
PRISMA stands for people, rights, identities and shop management and is an identity management system at Bielefeld University. The self-service portal can be used to upload a photo for the UniCard, look up access data for the central IT services or manage passwords.
BITS-loginname
The BITS-login name is used to access the BITS services. The personal user name and the university email address are stored in the PRISMA portal under "My data".
Passwords
If you are registering for the first time, you will need a password in addition to your matriculation number or BITS login name.
- Get the web password:
The web password must be requested via the page https://login.uni-bielefeld.de/idp/pwreset and then changed to your own. The password is then required for the application portal, the electronic course catalogue (ekvv) or PRISMA. - Set additional passwords for WLAN, university email address etc. in PRISMA:
In the PRISMA portal under "Change passwords", separate passwords must be set for the use of WLAN / VPN (network access) and the university email address / PC registration (registration on PCs, email inboxes ...).
UniCard
The student ID card (UniCard) as a multifunctional ID card in cheque card format must first be applied for in the PRISMA portal. Further information and instructions can be found at:
IT services
Approvalfor IT services
Upon enrolment, students at Bielefeld University have access to the university's free IT services. These include, among others:
- WLAN,
- Email account with your own @uni-bielefeld.de address,
- computers in the PC rooms,
- storage space on the network drive.
In order to use the services of the Bielefeld IT Service Centre (BITS), the BITS user name is used.
The personal BITS user name and the university email address are stored in the PRISMA portal under "My data".
