Change of display name and email address

The following instructions describe how to order via PRISMA for:

  • Changing the display name of an email mailbox (e.g. for name changes or functional mailboxes). Among other things, the name appears as the sender name in the webmailer and in the address book of the central email server.
  • Requesting an additional email address / additional receiving address.
     

 

Change display name

1.

Log in to the PRISMA portal.

2.

In the account overview, open the account with the desired email address and click on the pencil icon in the Display name field.

3.

Enter the new display name in the New value field and confirm with OK.

Notes:

  • For a personal email address, use the form "Last name, first name".
  • For a function address, select a name that is as descriptive as possible.

4.

The order must now be sent via the shopping basket at the top right.

5.

This order must be authorised by the responsible IT supervisor. A confirmation email will then be sent automatically.
 


 

Change of email address / Additional receiving address

1.

Log in to the PRISMA portal.

2.

In the account overview, open the account with the previous email address and click on the plus (+) symbol in the Receiving addresses field.

3.

Enter the new email address in the New receiving address field and confirm with OK.

Note:

  • For a personal email address, parts of the first name / surname and the complete last name should be selected in the form "vorname.nachname@uni-bielefeld.de".

4.

The order must now be sent via the shopping basket at the top right.

5.

This order must be authorised by the responsible IT supervisor. A confirmation email will then be sent automatically.

Notes:

  • The new receiving address can then be made the main address for a mailbox. To do this, set the key symbol under Mailbox settings (see image under 2.) accordingly and save.
  • Emails to the previous address will not be lost and will continue to arrive at the same mailbox.
