Houbi? What on earth is that? This is the name for the activity bus of University Sports, which came about as part of the project “Bewegt studieren – Studieren Bewegt” an initiative to help students keep active at their place of study which has since become an integral part of University Sports. Whether summer or winter, indoors or outdoors, the Houbi bus can provide you with plenty of ideas for games and activities such as spike-ball or kubb. After a fun and active break, you can return to work feeling energised.
Borrowing sports equipment is very easy and, above all, free of charge. All you are required to do, is hand in a valid Uni-card to our instructors as a deposit. Once you return the equipment you have borrowed, you will of course get your card back. You can also use the games equipment on site without leaving a deposit.
During the summer, the Houbi bus is on the grass between the main university building and Building X. The bus is there every Monday from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm and Wednesday from 12pm to 3pm, equipped with lots of fantastic games for you to try out. You can play spikeball, improve your aim with kubb or just happily toss a frisbee to each other.
If the weather is longer inviting for outdoor pursuits, the Houbi bus moves to Westend at the Main University Hall. There, in addition to HesherBall and mini table-tennis you can try your hand at juggling. Depending on how long your break is, and where your interests lie, you can borrow a wide variety of games, from card games to active sports.
Whether outdoors or indoors, out instructors are on hand to advise you. They can also step in when there are not enough players.
