In order to provide comprehensive and close to home care for people with complex care needs, it is increasingly necessary to find new approaches in primary and long-term care. This section focusses on investigating how these approaches can be designed and organized.
The aims of this research focus are (1) to conduct international comparative analyses of innovative approaches in primary and long-term care and (2) to generate empirically based findings for the development and evaluation of care models and organizational forms. The professionalization of nursing, interprofessional collaboration, and the empowerment of health care workers in primary and long-term care are of particular interest in this context.
