The epidemiological modeling of disease dynamics is an important part of public health research. It makes it possible to better understand the spread of diseases in populations in order to forecast future developments and provide evidence-based foundations for public health measures. Medical knowledge and mathematical-statistical methods are combined to analyze and predict measures of disease dynamics at population level. In particular, we focus on chronic diseases, whose spread and development over time we investigate using epidemiological models, as well as the evaluation of prevention and intervention measures.
