Neuro-Imaging Consultation

Brain Visualisation

Content of Consultation:

Target Group:

  • Students
  • Doctoral candidates
  • Post-Docs
  • Who have questions concerning the planing, inquiry and analysis of imaging studies

Focus:

  • The emphasis lies on MRI-Studies; if needed, questions regarding other areas of neuroscience may also be invoked

Scope:
Structural MRI:

  • Volumetrics
  • Volumetric Analysis (SPM12, CAT12)
  • Analysis of Fiber Tracts (DTI)
  • Analysis of the Cortical Surface (FreeSurfer)
  • Tract-Based Statistics (TBSS, Tracula)

Functional MRI:

  • Task-related hypotheses (task fMRI)
  • Network-related hypotheses (resitng-state fMRI)
    • Analysis using Matlab/SPM12, Freesurfer or Python/NiLearn
    • Assistance with:
      • Visualisation of imaging data (Mircron, MricroGL, FreeView, Papaya) 
      • Anatomical and functional interpretation (Brain Atlases like the Harvard-Oxford Atlas and Online-Meta-Analyses like NeuroSynth.org)

Support for:
Planing and construction of experiments, including: 

  • Creation and preparation of stimuli
  • Choosing a study design
  • Programming and synchronising experiments 

Additional Consultation Topics:

  • Machine Learning
  • Pattern Recognition Methods (SciKit-Learn)
  • Data Visualisation (Matplotlib, Seaborn)
  • Efficient usage of online databases (NeuroVault.org, OpenNeuro.org)
