Additional information:
We have received many inquiries as to whether the two degree programs M.Sc. Applied Psychology: Diagnostics, Counseling & Training and M.Sc. Psychology with a focus on Experimental Psychology and Neuroscience qualify students to train as psychological psychotherapists under the old licensing law. According to the Landesprüfungsamt für Medizin, Psychotherapie und Pharmazie NRW (State Examination Office for Medicine, Psychotherapy and Pharmacy of North Rhine-Westphalia), the two above-mentioned courses do not qualify for psychotherapy training under the old Approbationsgesetz.
The previously offered Master's program M.Sc. Psychology started for the last time in WiSe 20/21. It is no longer possible to apply for the first semester of this program. At the end of summer semester 2025, this program will be completely discontinued. Students will be informed about the existing discontinuation regulations in due time.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Service Office (Examination Office, Academic Advising, Student Counseling Service).
