Thomas Schack participated as a Vice President of the ISSP at the ISSP Executive Committee Meeting in Thessaloniki Greece from the 11-13th of November 2019. The meeting reached out many important topics, projects and strategic items for international sport and exercise psychology and the international society. Furthermore many steps have been done to prepare the ISSP World Congress 2021 in Taipeh.

At 23.09.2019 Kuo-Pin Wang with Ming-Yang Cheng, Dirk Koester, and Thomas Schack won first prize for an Excellent research paper award 2019, Sport Science Research and Development, Sports Affairs, Ministry of Education, Taiwan. Besides, Kuo-Pin Wang with Ming-Yang Cheng also won another prize for an excellent research paper award 2019. This prize is granted for innovative research in the field of sport science.

The Symposium

"Neurocognition and Action in Sport - New Technologies for High Performance and Rehabilitation"

organized by the Neurocognition and Action - Biomechanics research group will take place from 11 to 13 July 2019 at Bielefeld University. The three-day symposium is divided into five sessions and brings together international scientists from different disciples: "Imagery and Learning", "Memory, Expertise and Technical Systems", "Theoretical perspectives for action and practice in sport", "Sport Performance, Body Awareness and New Technologies in Sport" & "New Technologies for better performance in rehabilitation and institutions for handicapped people".

On 10 July, the project partners and sponsors of the BMBF project "Audiovisual support through a cognitive and mobile assistance system for the modern world of work" (AVIKOM), initiated in May, will meet for a kick-off meeting. Together with colleagues from the Work and Organisational Psychology department, the Institute for System Dynamics and Mechatronics (ISymM) at the FH Bielefeld, 5 local companies and 4 associated partners, the Neurocognition and Action research group is developing a mobile and intelligent assistance system tailored to the individual user's needs. By providing visual and acoustic feedback, the system will support the employees of the project partners in their daily work in the areas of service, intralogistics, maintenance, assembly, as well as in the acquisition of competence.

Am 10. Juli treffen sich die Projektpartner und -träger des im Mai initiierten BMBF-Projektes "Audiovisuelle Unterstützung durch ein kognitives und mobiles Assistenzsystem für die moderne Arbeitswelt" (AVIKOM) zum Kick-Off-Treffen. Zusammen mit den Kollegen aus der Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie, dem Institut für Systemdynamik und Mechatronik (ISymM) der FH Bielefeld, 5 lokalen Wirtschaftsunternehmen und 4 weiteren assozierten Partnern entwickelt die Arbeitsgruppe Neurokognition und Bewegung ein mobiles, intelligentes und auf individuelle Bedürfnisse zugeschnittenes Assistenzsystem. Dieses System wird die Mitarbeiter der Projektpartner bei Arbeiten im Servicebereich, der Intralogistik, Instandhaltung, Montage, sowie beim Kompetenzerwerb unterstützen und bei Bedarf visuelle und akustische Hilfestellung leisten.

Shiau-Chuen Chiou won an award for Best Student Presentation in 2019 Research in Imagery and Observation (RIO) Conference (25-26 April, 2019 at Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK) with her talk "Is temporal information integrated with spatial information during action observation? Effects of visual attention on the processing of whole-body movement sequences".

Ming-Yang Cheng receives an EXIST founder scholarship (February 2019 - February 2020) from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. This grant is granted for innovative, knowledge-based services based on scientific evidence.
