Scholarships via the International Office

Grant Options

The DAAD [German Academic Exchange Service] mobility programme sponsors short-term stays abroad worldwide with funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). PROMOS is intended to contribute to increasing mobility.

Partial scholarships in the DAAD/PROMOS mobility programme, awarded by the International Office of Bielefeld University. Funding is available for stays abroad of up to six months outside the Erasmus area for

  • Studies (3 - 6 months)
  • Thesis or research stay (6 weeks to 6 months)
  • Internship (6 weeks to 6 months)

Application deadlines:

  • 01-31 October - funding from January to June of the following year
  • 01-31 May - funding from July up to and including February of the following year

Information on funding and rates can be found in the call for applications . The application portal Mobility Online will be activated 4 weeks before the application deadline.
