PunktUm offers intensive courses on various levels in March as well as in September. These take place 3-4 weeks in a row every day from 8.30 am - 1 pm (80 teaching units).
This is a course for participants who only have very little knowledge of German. The aim of the course is to facilitate the linguistic and social integration of the participants into every-day life of university and to successfully complete the level A1 of the Common European Reference Framework. In addition to the aquirement of basic language skills (general vocabulary of the topics: "family", "eat and drink", "health", "home", "in the shopping center", "in the travel agency", "leasure time") and basic knowledge of grammar the treatment of numerous issues of the university as rules, schedule, electronic course catalogue (ekVV), service facilities (University Computing Centre (HRZ), Studentenwerk, International Office), library, sports and leasure time offers as well as regional studies will take the centre of the lessons.

The most important grammatical topics will be practised, explained and repeated. Your vocabulary will be expanded for every-day life at university as well as regional studies will be treated.
The course is aimed at international university members who already have a good knowledge of German as a foreign language and is based on level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The aim of the course is to lay the foundations for a successful stay at Bielefeld University. The course instructor will therefore support you with an introduction to all university areas. The necessary vocabulary will be taught and practised at the same time. The German lessons focus on speaking and listening comprehension as well as intercultural exchange about everything that is important when you are NEW in Germany and Bielefeld! We also revise some important grammar topics and read preparatory and regional texts.
The course is aimed at international university members who already have a good knowledge of German as a foreign language and is based on level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Have you already prepared for your stay in Germany in your home country, but still find yourself in many situations where the German language gives you a hard time? Then this is the right course for you! This course is offered by PunktUm for all international university members in English/foreign language degree programmes and work contexts. The focus is on mastering everyday university life. This also includes familiarising students with German as an academic language. The direct application and communicative practice of new structures and vocabulary as well as the presentation of collaboratively developed lectures and project ending dates are constitutional components of the course. The practical application of the relevant vocabulary and the linguistic processing of the content (acquisition of vocabulary) by the participants are at the centre of the course.
This event is offered by PunktUm for all international university members in English/foreign language degree programmes and working contexts. The focus is on the further development of German as an academic language, both in written and oral communication. The direct application and communicative practice of new structures and vocabulary as well as the presentation of collaboratively developed lectures and project ending dates are constitutional components of the event.
