Information

As part of the programme NRWege ins Studium - Integration of Refugees at Universities in NRW, University of Bielefeld awards scholarships to students with a refugee background. These grants are intended to support qualified students in every phase of their studies and to promote their success at Bielefeld University.

Our goal is to support you through your successfull studies. 

Full scholarship

The scholarship supports students with a refugee background during their studies at Bielefeld University. The scholarship is only granted if there is no other way of securing a livelihood. You can only apply if you are not entitled to BAföG or social benefits.

Funding amount: max. 992,- Euro per month
Funding period: maximum of one year

Application process

You can apply for a scholarship from January 22 until February 22 of 2025.

You will receive notification by March 7 of 2025 whether your application has been approved or rejected.

In the event of a positive decision, the first instalment of the monthly payments will be made at start of the semester on April 1 of 2025.
