Effectively shaping your own professorship. Management and leadership in academia

Goals
As a professor, you are entrusted with a variety of tasks and take on different roles. The range of requirements - from acquiring third-party funding to excellent teaching - is extensive. In order to manage these diverse tasks and at the same time maintain or create freedom, the effective management and organisation of your own working group is of central importance.
The compact seminar will show you how to create efficient working structures and use proven management tools to organise your day-to-day management in an academic environment successfully and in a way that conserves resources. You will have the opportunity to work on your individual questions on the topic of "Leadership in academia" within the framework of various exchange formats.
Content
The first part of the course focuses on the strategic orientation and structural optimisation of the tasks and processes of your professorship. The second part of the course will focus on individual management tools of communication as central control elements in their application.
Methods
The seminar is process-orientated and incorporates the individual questions of the participants. The seminar uses interactive-involving methods to make the content optimally usable for everyday working life at universities. The input on individual theories (brief overviews and checklists for the participants) enables in-depth technical knowledge.
Speaker
Prof. Dr. Anja Frohnen is an expert in leadership development, leadership coaching and organisational and academic staff development.
As founder and managing director of Impulsplus, she works nationally and internationally as a trainer and coach in leadership development and personnel development at universities and research institutes. She has also held a professorship for coaching and supervision since November 2020.
