Counselling services offered by the Frauenennotruf e.V. at Bielefeld University

In cooperation with the Frauenennotruf Bielefeld e.V., Bielefeld University offers independent counselling in cases of sexualised harassment, discrimination and violence . The counselling takes place during open consultation hours every Thursday from 13:00 to 15:00 on the following topics:

  • (Everyday) sexism
  • stalking
  • sexual harassment
  • coercion
  • rape

Those affected or interested can be counselled directly by an employee of the Frauenennotruf Bielefeld e.V. without prior appointment. The counselling service is aimed at all women* (regardless of origin, religion, sexual identity, ...) and can be used anonymously. As an external counselling centre, the Frauenennotruf and its staff work independently of university structures and hierarchies.

Outside of the open consultation hours, it is possible to contact the Frauennotruf Bielefeld e.V.
Telephone counselling is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.00 to 12.00 and Thursdays from 14.00 to 18.00 during the telephone consultation hours of the Frauenennotruf Bielefeld e.V. on 0521- 12 42 48. On Wednesdays from 10.00 to 12.00, telephone counselling is also available in Turkish.
Personal or video appointments can also be arranged if required. Otherwise, an answering machine will take your message. We will call you back as soon as possible, using our personal name only.

In addition to counselling, the staff also offer training events and lectures on the topic.

The Frauenennotruf Bielefeld e.V. has produced an information video in German sign language (with subtitles) for women who are affected by sexualised violence. This video provides women with information and encourages them to contact a counselling service or the police.
