Our aims
We make sure that international students feel comfortable in Bielefeld. For this reason, we made it our aim to
- help international students, scientists and scholars in Bielefeld with their questions and concerns;
- place international students, scientists and scholars with hosts and host families from the region;
- support them in financial emergencies;
- offer practical support with problems they face during their studies or in their everyday life;
- propose a varied program of leisure and cultural activities which focus on NRW (North-Rhine/Westphalia)
Membership
Since 1985, ViSiB has been supporting international students, scientist and scholars at Bielefeld University and the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld. If you are interested in forwarding this project, become a member of the ViSiB-Team. We are grateful for your assistance!

Dear members of Bielefeld University and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, dear citizens of the city,
Corona not only challenges our everyday routines. Corona confronts many people with the problem of how to keep their heads above water financially. This is especially true for international students at Bielefeld University and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences.
The Association for International Students in Bielefeld (ViSiB) has been committed to international students for many years and also supports them with emergency aid. In response to current events, we have also announced short-term scholarships (150 euros each for three months). Many more students have applied for these than we can support.
Many international students are currently suffering from extreme financial problems and do not know how to make ends meet.
That is why we are asking for your support.
Help us to enable international students to continue their studies at the University or FH Bielefeld.
Become a member of ViSiB e.V. or participate with a one-time donation.
ViSiB not only supports international students financially, but also arranges contacts, organizes (inter)cultural events and regularly awards prizes for special academic achievements and commitment. If you would like to get to know ViSiB, send us an email and we will invite you to the next event!

ViSiB (Registered Association to Support International Students in Bielefeld) collects stores and uses personal data of its members exclusively as part of their membership. In case of entry in the association, the following data are collected:
- Last name, first name,
- Street, house number
- Zip code, city
- Telephone number
- E-Mail address
- Amount of the contribution
These data are used for invitations to events of the association, as well as for internal use (for example: membership and mailing lists) The
access to the data will have the board, administrative office, employees of the office and the computer service providers. The data will be blocked after the end of membership and will be deleted after
the legal retention period for business documents.
The data collection and processing is required for the above purpose and is based on Article 6 paragraph 1a, 1b and 1f of General Data Protection Regulation. The saved data is not forwarded to third parties. Data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was compiled.
You have the right to object the processing of your data for the purposes stated at any time. You are also entitled to request information about your stored data. In case of incorrectness of the data or in case of the improper storage you have the right to request deletion of the data. Additionally you may appeal to supervisory authority.
